As you maybe aware, new international legislation governing the treatment of timber used for pallet manufacture and other wood based packing material, and recommended for adoption by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, came into effect on January 2nd, 2004. The regulation requires that all timber packaging be heat treated to 56 degrees for 30 minutes, or chemically treated, to prevent the spread of disease through insect infestation.
In order to help new and existing customers comply with the regulation we have taken delivery of a kiln and are able to offer kiln dried pallets and timber.
P & C pallets Ltd. have registered as a participant in the UK Wood Packaging Material Marking Programme (TIMCON) and are approved to apply the official mark for the Programme to wood packing material manufactured or repaired on our premises. Application of the mark certifies that the material has been manufactured or repaired in the UK and meets prescribed phytosanitary (plant health) standards.

The use of skips for disposing of scrap pallets can be costly and environmentally unsound. Dependant on size, condition and quantity we could pay you for your pallets. Some pallets will be repaired for resale; those pallets deemed un-repairable maybe put though our pallet buster machine, broken down to core elements and the timber reused to repair broken pallets. All waste pallets and timber is then sent to a local recycling centre where it is chipped and sold on
